The short answer is none. They both mean the same thing, and are basically interchangeable terms. Some people seem to think hair supplements refers to a hair loss product while hair vitamins is more of a general hair care product. While this terminology isn’t wrong, it does ignore how similar the terms are. First, what does the word hair supplement mean?
The term supplement means to ” add to” and it’s derived here from the term food supplement (also called vitamins!). So a food supplement specially formulated for your hair would be a hair supplement – and it can refer to any kind of hair supplement be it for hair loss, fast hair growth, long hair or whatever. But what exactly does a hair supplement …supplement or add to? The answer is your diet. If you are like many, many, many other people you are busy, and maybe you don’t pay close attention to what’s in everything you eat.
There really isn’t any huge problem with that, you still probably get most of the nutrients you need to function, but it isn’t doing your hair any favors. Your hair is last in line when the body is rationing out nutrients and if you don’t make sure you get 100% of many different nutrients your hair can suffer. So hair supplements fill in the gaps in your diet and make sure your have everything you need to grow long healthy hair. The best hair supplements typically will contain proteins (amino acids), B vitamins, and certain mineral.
So regardless of if we call them hair supplements or hair vitamins, hair growth pills can play an important role in how your hair looks and feels.

When most people think of ” hair care product ” they think shampoo, conditioner, gel, etc. In general, the reason people use hair care products is to get healthy, great looking hair. What’s often overlooked is the fact that the hair (just like any other part of the body) needs proper nutrition to thrive and be it’s healthiest.
